In cooperation with the Celtic Cluster this year's ESTC program will include special matchmaking sessions where the participants have the possibility to:
- create and edit own profile
- view profile of other participants
- schedule face to face meetings for the matchmaking sessions
How to participate
To participate in the matchmaking sessions, you need a user account within the matchmaking system. There are two possibilities to get a user account:
- When you register for the conference, please make sure to activate the option "Matchmaking Event @ ESTC2009". This way your personal data will be redirected to the matchmaking system and you will automatically receive a confirmation email for your matchmaking user account.
We appreciate if you use this possibility because it saves the administrative effort for the event organizers. To register for the conference and/or the matchmaking event, please go to the registration form.
- The second option is to create a user account directly within the matchmaking system.
To do this, please go to http://www.b2match.com/estc2009/ and follow the instructions.

All ESTC2009 participants have the unique opportunity to try the newest networking tools during the conference:
1. vCard exchange: We offer the possibility to automatically exchange vCards of multiple people via email. The process is explained in the following example: Peter, Jason and David want to exchange their contact data. They approach the terminal an David uses his tag to log into the system. He chooses the vCard exchange service. His contact vCard will be shown on the screen. Peter wipes his tag over the reader and his data will also be added. David does the same. When pressing the send button Peter will receive an email with the vCards of David and Jason. David will receive one with the vCards of Peter and Jason. Jason will receive the contact information of David and Peter. 2. The web comparator Up to 4 participants can compare their online presence (based on forename and surname) based upon multiple sources. These sources are namely Google, Google Images, Google Scholar, Yahoo, Yahoo Images, Flickr, CiteSeerX. The goal is to show the boundaries of the current web. The long term goal (multiple years) is to show which impact the findings of semantic web research will have on traditional web search. Compared to the ESWC2009 the client will provide some additional features.
You will receive your chip/card at the registration desk. |
